Seaweed Ripple. Show Home, Edinburgh.

Working with interior design company, Hudson and Mercer, I was commissioned to create a 6 part series to sit above the master bed. Inspired by the distant sea view, I worked with my seaweed coloured beads, in two tones, to create a dense sand ripple inspired series.

Tufted Coral Weed. Dining Room, Cornwall.

80cm (h) x 140cm (w) (individual frame 80cm (h) x 46cm (w)).

This piece has been made with my SeaCell fibre fabric and has been naturally dyed with buckthorn bark. Inspired by tufted coral weed, the textural motif has a combination of bamboo/silk (cream) thread and viscose (pinks).  There is a very subtle gradient in pink moving from light (bottom) to dark (top).

SeaCell Cushions. Bard, Edinburgh.

30cm (h) x 50cm (w)"We commissioned Jasmine to make this series embracing a more asymmetric joining figuration; each is embroidered with bamboo silk threads in bronze, gold and copper tones. The results are eminently stroke-able and huggable - ethereally cosy companions for the sofa or bed.", Bard, Edinburgh.

Restaurant. Dulse, Edinburgh.

140cm x 140cm

Using the restaurants logo as my stencil, I created this piece with dulse seaweed beads for the seafood and wine stairwell.

Colours of Seaweed. Dining Room, Cornwall.

80cm (h) x 100cm (w)

Seaweed Hanging. Stairwell, Cornwall.

250cm (h) x 100cm (w)

The base fabric of this piece has been made with SeaCell fibre, which Jasmine constructs into fabric using digital embroidery techniques in her Edinburgh based studio.  The SeaCell tassel embellishments have been hand dyed by Jasmine using seaweed that she hand harvests, under license, from the south east coast of Scotland. Adding a pop of colour, Jasmine has used her handmade beads using seaweed and eco resin, in rich pinks, vibrant greens and deep browns, creating a lovely subtle contrast to this neutral and tactile wall hanging.

Ripple Tassels. Bedroom, Edinburgh.

Dimensions: 110cm (h()x 35cm (w)

Testimonial.

"I keep playing with the tassels and beads - I love how tactile it is and the movement when you walk past just adds to it.

As the light comes in from the window at the side, there is a bit of a sheen on the fabric, and a bit of a sparkle on the beads!

I’m so delighted with the final product, it’s exactly what I was after and more.

So pleased there are artists such as yourself making these gorgeous creations."
